The 2026 season against the number

The line in each row is the one we published on the morning of the game, from the game day guide. It is not necessarily the closing line. For Week 6 we did not publish a game-morning number, so the row uses DraftKings’ final line in ESPN’s game data, checked the morning after.

Week Game Line (game morning) Total Result Against the spread Total
1 vs New England Seattle -3 44.5 Won 13-10 Push Under (23)
2 at Arizona Seattle -3.5 41.5 Won 31-7 Covered Under (38)
3 at Washington Seattle -8.5 40.5 Lost 33-31 Did not cover Over (64)
4 vs LA Chargers Seattle -7 42.5 Won 30-23 Push Over (53)
5 vs San Francisco Seattle -3 46.5 Lost 32-29 Did not cover Over (61)
6 at Denver Seattle -3 40.5 Lost 17-14 (OT) Did not cover Under (31)
7 vs Kansas City Seattle -3 42.5 Won 20-3 Covered Under (23)
8 vs Chicago Seattle -3 46.5 Lost 34-17 Did not cover Over (51)

Straight up: 4-4. Against the spread: 2-4-2. Totals: 4 under, 4 over.

The two unders were games decided by Seattle’s defense: 17 points allowed in the first two weeks. The overs came in games with turnovers and penalties: three Seattle turnovers that became 20 Washington points, then four Chargers turnovers that Seattle turned into 14 points, and 14 Seattle penalties for 150 yards that kept the Chargers’ drives alive. Against the Chargers the line was exactly the margin, the second push in four games. Against the 49ers it was turnovers again: four Seattle giveaways became 21 San Francisco points, one of them a fumble recovered in the end zone, and the game went over by 14.5 points. At Denver it went the other way on the total: Seattle’s defense held the Broncos to 168 yards, the teams combined for 31 points, and the game stayed under by 9.5 even with overtime. Seattle still lost as the favorite, on three turnovers to none. Seattle’s first three losses came as the favorite, by a combined eight points. Against Kansas City the defense did it again: 213 yards and a field goal allowed, the turnovers even at one apiece, and the game under by 19.5 points; Seattle covered by 14. DraftKings’ final number in ESPN’s game data was also Seattle -3, with the total at 43.5. Against Chicago it was a different kind of loss: not turnovers, which were even at one apiece, but 1 of 11 on third down, a blocked field goal and a missed extra point, and Chicago scored touchdowns on all four of its red-zone trips. Seattle lost by 17 as a 3-point favorite, its fourth loss and the first by more than three points, and the game went over by 4.5. DraftKings’ final number in ESPN’s game data was also Seattle -3 and 46.5.

How we report lines

  • Every number carries the book or source and the date and time we checked it. Lines move, and a number without a date is not information.
  • We use DraftKings and FanDuel as reference books and note when others differ by more than half a point.
  • Washington allows sports betting only in person at tribal casinos, and there is no legal online sportsbook in the state. The rules differ from state to state, so check where you are.
  • 12th Gear carries no sportsbook advertising. The numbers are here because fans ask, not as advice.

The injury report is where line-moving news shows up first: the practice reports on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and the game status on Friday.
